VICTORY and DEFEAT!

Alright, I hope you all went out and voted yesterday.
California experienced a great victory and yet a great defeat!
The governator was re-elected. I think he will do well in the next four years for California.
Diane Feinstein was re-elected. We have a nice mixture of the two parties.
Prop 85 and 90 did not win, which is great for us!
The defeat we suffered was in terms of the other propositions.
California voters said no to prop 86 and 87. I really think those would have bettered our economy and environment. Think about it, the biggest deterrent for consumers of tobacco, is the price. If it costs too much then there will be less smokers. Sadly, the millions of dollars spent on advertising by the tobacco companies and other special interests groups won the day.
Well, I guess you have to take the good with the bad.
Now the federal government accomplished a HUGE VICTORY!
We got the first lady speaker of the house, 3rd in line to the presidency. This is one step closer to having the first female president. Now, if we could only get the first female chief justice of teh US supreme court, that would be great!
Additionally, the federal government has been taken over by democrats. Hopefully this will lead to the US getting out of IRAQ and spending less money on a fruitless war.
This will be one exciting term!
